Pool Hoist Donation
Ecclesiastical Insurance very generously provided us with a £2,000 donation in August 2021. The money will go towards a new pool hoist to enable our less abled visitors make full use of our swimming pool.
Covid-19 Fund - Grant of £3,000
The Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (WCCAEW) very kindly provided an emergency grant of £3,000 to support the pool during the Covid-19 pandemic. This grant was particularly welcome to due to loss of income in May, June and July 2020.
Pool covers and Fencing
St. James’s Place provided half the cost of new pool covers, helping to reduce costs in heating the pool – and new fencing alongside Riverside Walk built, incorporating the storage of pool covers.
Major Refurbishment 2016
The Winstone Trust together with Chris Morling, owner of Money.co.uk donated a significant sum towards the £750,000 redevelopment work.
The 147-year-old pool refurbishment included new changing facilities, meeting rooms, an office and housing for the pool's pump and heating machinery.
About The Winstone Trust
Kate Doreen Winstone, who died in 2003, left money in her will for a charitable trust fund to be set up to benefit Cirencester and its residents.
Mrs Winstone, whose late husband Bob was a shoemaker in Cricklade Street and ran Winstone and Sons shoe shop, wished for her fund to be used to help Cirencester Parish Church, educational projects, arts and cultural projects and other charitable projects which will benefit the community.
